Frequently Asked Questions

Whether this is your first time seeking help, or you're ready to get back in it, there is no such thing as a dumb question! Here are some general questions that are important to answer, but please don't hesitate to reach out with any others!

Questions about cost:

How do I pay?

When you are set up as a client, you will enter your payment information in order to be billed accordingly. This is done automatically once the session is complete. You will be emailed a copy of your receipt.

What happens if I can't pay for a session we already had?

This information, and other potential issues, are addressed in the consent forms you will sign before our first appointment, but we would need to agree on a plan to get that session paid for prior to scheduling the next session.

Do I have to pay more if our session goes over 50 minutes?

Typically, no. There are circumstances that will require an additional fee, but you will be notified and agree to that fee prior to being charged.

Questions about teletherapy:

Does it work?

Where I am supposed to be during a session?

This is the great part about telehealth! You can choose to be anywhere you feel most secure talking about you. It is common for clients to meet in their living room, their office, their front porch, their bathroom floor, or their closet! It is also acceptable to meet in your car, as long as you are PARKED. No driving during a session. Also, don't worry about what you look like! You won't have to sit in a waiting room! The only rule here is that you have to be dressed :)

What about wifi issues?

Sometimes connections are rocky. If that is the case, we will communication via text to determine our other options. In many scenarios, we have other platforms to try or we can switch to a phone session.

Questions about therapy in general:

What is faith-based counseling?

Here at Mosaic Wellness, faith-based counseling describes the foundation that each therapeutic approach used is built on: that every person presents with an inherent worth and value that is unaffected by human nature. Although your therapist may decide to refer you to another provider for more appropriate care, no one will be turned away based on race, sexual orientation, or lifestyle.

Can I include other people in my session?

Yes, yet this needs to be discussed prior to session. It is inappropriate to have other adults present during your session without the therapist's knowledge.

What if I don't like my therapist?

Yes, this happens and it is completely okay. Please don't give up on therapy! Many clients simply do not reschedule and just move on, but it is best to simply state "I do not feel like we are jiving well. Do you have other suggestions for therapists that may be better for me?"

How do I know if therapy is working?

This is a great question and something to think about BEFORE your first session. What are you goals? What will start to feel different if therapy is working? This will be discussed at the intake session so that everyone knows what therapy is working towards.
